Abstract
Brilliance proposes a technological transition beyond artificial intelligence, artificial general intelligence, and superintelligence. Brilliance begins when machine intelligence develops into machine wisdom: super-critical, context-sensitive judgment applied to specific goals and the social situations surrounding them.
The central problem is Friction: the avoidable expenditure of time, attention, effort, trust, money, energy, and material caused by misalignment between human intentions and the systems through which people pursue them. Friction is not identical to inconvenience, and reducing it is not an appeal for selflessness. The enemy is friction

An example: the utility bill
Lowering a utility bill is not inherently virtuous or selfless. The bill is one visible location of friction.
